Consumer Price Indices: February 2011

 

The year on year headline inflation for the month of February 2011 stands at 7.0 percent, an increase of 0.4 percentage points on the month before. The urban and rural rates are 8.8 percent and 6.0 percent respectively.

 

The food inflation has gone down by 3.6 percent as compared to 6.8 percent during the same period last year. Core inflation, which excludes food costs, stands at 11.1 percent up by 0.4 percentage points on the month before owing mainly to the lagged effects of the recent hike in transport costs.
