The 2024 Malawi Demographic and Health Survey (2024 MDHS)

The 2024 Malawi Demographic and Health Survey (2024 MDHS) is a nationally representative survey implemented by the National Statistical Office (NSO) with technical assistance from ICF through The DHS Program and Utica International. The survey provides up-to-date estimates of key demographic and health indicators for Malawi.
The 2024 MDHS collected information across all districts of
Malawi, including a special domain covering the Dzaleka refugee camp. The
survey gathered data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health,
nutrition, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other health indicators critical for policy
planning and programme evaluation.
Funding Partners
The 2024 MDHS was funded by the Government of Malawi and
development partners including USAID, the World Bank, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNESCO,
UNHCR, WHO, UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, KfW Development
Bank of Germany, Global Affairs Canada, European Commission, Global Fund to
Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria, WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme,
